Guitar lessons

When I got here, I started taking guitar lessons with a friend of Gordon's called Paul. I have never had a different guitar teacher before, and it's very interesting to see the differences between Paul and Jackson (my teacher in Brazil). I'm learning a lot of new stuff here based on the skills that i had before.
Guitar playing here is different too, I have more time to spend on that mainly because I have less distractions here like video games, but I could be putting more effort on it.
Well, it's being a lot of fun and I'm having a great time with Paul.

Naramata

On November 9, I went to a place called Naramata, in British Columbia. We went together with a group of 200 people i think from different cities. It was a church event, but, the main focus wasn't to covert you into any religion, it was actually to have fun with a little bit of spirituality.
On the first day, we were introduced to the program, the streams, where they gathered all of the people and made an activity with them and the workshops. I didn't go to any workshop this day because i wasn't feeling well then i stayed in bed.
The second day was one of the best days, I went to a nice workshop about the environment with some spirituality, we went out in the cold with our eyes closed and then, we were just feeling the grass and the trees.

The third day, the last one, was just like the other but with a dance party in the end of it. Then we went to bed.

Three weeks ago, i went to this place called the butchart gardens expecting a small thing with some flowers and stuff . But when i got there, Surprise, it was a huge thing with lots of different gardens. The best one in my opinion is the Japanese garden which has a narrow path to walk with colored-leaves trees surrounding you. It's not that the others aren't good, it's just that the Japanese one is my favorite. well, in the end of everything, it was one of the best things that I've done here until today. Last weekend i went to a place called naramata and the next post will be about it.

Salmon run

Yesterday i went to the Goldstream park to see the salmon run. There were just a few salmon there but it was enough to realize what was going on. For those of you that don't know what a salmon run is, it's a fight that all salmon in the end of it's life cycle go to lay eggs and then die. I forgot my camera when i went there but found this image on Google and it is actually the exact place that i was.

First post

Being an exchange student is not just staying in another country to study it`s much more than that. Being an exchange student is to be open to change yourself, to be prepared to grow as a person. With this post I am starting to share this experience with all of you.
